The Spice Girls are reportedly planning to launch a TV reality show to find versions of themselves for a musical of the band

The Spice Girls are reportedly planning to launch a TV reality show to find versions of themselves for a musical of the band.

Reports have recently circulated that the band were planning to reform, however it has now been claimed that the girls are not the ones who will take to the stage.

The girls are said to be planning a show similar to the British show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria, which was a reality show looking for a Maria to star in the West End version of The Sound Of Music.

The five members, Mel C, Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell, will reportedly sit on a panel and pass their judgement on the contestants.

A source said to British newspaper The Sun: "This is an idea which appeals to all of the original members. It's a fantastic new way to broaden out the Spice franchise and cash in on their personalities, their story and their songs.

"The girls would have to work intensely on a TV show for a short period of time. But they then launch a musical which could run for months or even years.

"It will take on a life of its own. The concept could even be replicated in other countries. The sky is the limit with this one."

Spice Girls: West End show?

The Spice Girls are reportedly planning to bring their story to the West End stage.

Recent reports that the group is to reform have been denied by the band’s members.

It has now been claimed that their story will be made into a musical for London's West End.

A source said: "The project is really Geri's baby, but all the girls are backing it.

"The idea is for five relatively unknown actresses to take the parts and, hopefully, the girls will each have a say in who is cast."
