McConaughey woke up on his 40th birthday to find a 1981 Chevy Camaro Z28 sitting in his driveway.

It was his dream car when he was a teenager – and it was that make and model of car that he first drove.

McConaughey told UK Star magazine: “Camilla got it for me for my 40th. It’s very cool because my middle brother Pat, it’s what he drove in high school.

“When I was 12 and he was 18, he’d come home on a Friday or Saturday night at 12.30am and he’d come inside and wake me up and I’d run out in my underwear and get in the passenger seat and listen to rock ‘n’ roll in the driveway. My mum and dad would go out of town and Pat would let me drive it, all around Texas.”

Camila has just given birth to the couple’s second child, three-week-old baby girl, Vida.

And now she has ruled that McConaughey must wait 40 days before making any moves on her.

Camila explained to Stylelist.com: “Where I come from – Brazil – we believe in something we call a 40-day break after the baby.

“You have to let your body do its own thing. You give it time to recover and let everything settle down. You kind of respect all the hard work your body has just done and give it a break. For these 40 days, you really take it easy.

“By that I mean no sex, light, healthy food, no trips to the gym. Then, after 40 days, you are good to go.”

The model admits she is beginning to miss certain things, but the bad news for McConaughey is that it’s not the sex she’s missing the most.

Camila, who also has an 18-month-old son Levi with the actor, added: “I confess, I am getting a little anxious to work out. I miss it. Not just to get my body back in shape, but for me, for my head!”

The 40-year-old star became a dad for the second time when his girlfriend Camila gave birth to daughter Vida on January 3.

They posted the image on their website along with the caption: “Here’s a pic of our latest family member Vida Alves McConaughey…

“Thanks for all your well wishes our way, the future’s lookin bright, just keep livin, Matthew and Camila.”

The couple are also parents to 18-month-old son Levi.

McConaughey, 40, and Camila Alves announced the weekend birth of Vida and are doing fine, said Rooster McConaughey.

“He called me on Sunday afternoon and said, ‘I made a little baby girl’. He’s all proud. He’s got it going on now,” Rooster said. Matthew and Alves have an 18-month-old son, Levi.

Rooster, the father of a son and a daughter, also reported telling Matthew to “quit copying me. You’re paralleling me. Hell, we’ve got so many McConaughey girls now, we’re all gonna have to learn volleyball and cheerleading.”

He humorously noted his brother did not follow in his choice of baby names. “I think I ruined it for him because I’ve already taken up that territory [alcohol-related names]. I named my [3½-year-old] boy Miller Lyte because that’s my favourite beer. And my [11-month-old] little girl is named Margarita Olympia. I liked that beer, too, even though they don’t even make it anymore.”

The couple announced the birth of their second child on Sunday in a message posted on McConaughey’s website.

They confirmed Vida Alves McConaughey was born just after midnight and weighed in at a healthy 7 pounds, 7 ounces (3.4 kilograms).

The message said: “’Vida’ is Portuguese for ‘life’ and that’s what God gave us this morning.

“Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honoured to welcome this little lady into our family.

“Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers along the way, another blessed day, we give thanks. Just keep livin’.”

Vida is a sister for the couple’s 17-month-old son Levi.

McConaughey, 40, and Alves, 26, announced the pregnancy on the website in June, blogging: “We pulled off the greatest miracle in the world one more time.

“Camila and I are expecting our second child, bringing more life into the world, making more to live for. The future looks bright as the family grows.”

The couple had chosen not to find out the sex of the baby before the birth, just like they did with Levi.
