Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz has said her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake will be fantastic in their new movie.

Timberlake, 29, recently signed up to star opposite Diaz, 37, in new comedy Bad Teacher.

Diaz said to Access Hollywood: “We’re thrilled to have him. He’s the best person for the job. He’s going to be hilarious. He’s clearly a very talented comedian, look at his Saturday Night Live [skits]. He’s fantastic, he’s going to be so great.”

The pair dated for just under four years after meeting at the Kids’ Choice Awards in 2003. They announced their split in a statement in January 2007.

Diaz added that she is looking forward to seeing the movie once it is finished. She said: “We just had our first day of shooting yesterday with Jason. And we just laughed all day. It’s so wonderful, I’m so excited.”

British star Jay Sean has said he ‘would love’ to be like singer Justin Timberlake.

The 26-year-old performer has recently been working with Timberlake, 29, and said he admired the star.

Sean said: “Justin’s so cool. He’s what I would love to be.

“I would love to have his career in terms of how long he’s been going, how incredible he is as a performer and what he’s managed to do in films. It was really cool to be able to work with him.”

Timberlake also had some good advice for the British star.

Sean added: “He said: ‘I like the way that you seem to be a pretty cool guy. Most people who get a No 1 record in America could actually lose the plot and just go off the rails.’

“But he said: ‘It’s nice to see that you got your feet on the ground. Stay like that and it will get you a really long way.’”

Timberlake’s mother Lynn Harless gave her clear seal of approval to actress Biel, calling her “one of us” as the pair chatted affectionately backstage at the singer’s fashion show in New York.

And asked about Biel, Harless gushed: “She is so down to earth and real. She’s amazing and her family is great.”

Asked if she thought Biel was “the one” for her son, reporter Justin Silverman says Harless “crossed her fingers and closed her eyes with hope”.

She added: “You should ask him. I’ve thought that before. They’re young. They have plenty of time.”

But she spoke about her desire for them to have children. “I’ve had friends who have grandchildren and I’ve tried to express to him that I’m losing that race!” she says.

Timberlake got hot and heavy with Biel at the after-party for the New York fashion week show of his label William Rast, further proving the pair are very much together.

After taking Biel upstairs, an onlooker said: “He ended up giving her a lapdance. It was pretty raunchy.”

Timberlake had earlier made a point of showing his affection for Biel after passing through crowds following an impromptu performance at the after-party and heading to a red velvet curtain where Biel was waiting for him.

“He opened the curtain and stepped Jessica behind it, then wrapped them in it before giving her a long kiss,” the onlooker said.

Timberlake’s parents came to see his recent William Rast fashion show debut in New York, and they proudly sat in the front row with Biel.

Talking about the actress, his mother Lynn praised Biel, saying: “She’s amazing. She’s so down-to-earth and her family is great.”

She added that Biel is “one of us” and said the pair click because “they’re both very funny and creative”.

She also said: “They’re always trying to out ’special’ each other. They’re pretty openly affectionate.”
