Joe Jackson wins right to open king of pop’s medical file The father of Michael Jackson has won the right to open his late son’s medical records.

Joe Jackson, who was not named in his son’s estate had a rocky relationship with the late king of pop. He is seeking a monthly stipend out of his son’s multimillion-dollar legacy.

Joe is believed to be seeking the records with a view to launching a wrongful death lawsuit, which could yield big dollars. Michael’s estate opposes Joe’s gaining access to the records, citing client-doctor privilege.

But a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled last Friday that Joe can hire an expert to review records from the UCLA Medical Centre, where his son was pronounced dead on June 25 last year. The papers state: “While the court acknowledges that medical records are documents to which the right to privacy attaches, Michael Jackson’s right of privacy does not apply under these facts because Michael Jackson is deceased.”

Conrad Murray, Michael’s doctor at the time of his death, is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the homicide death of the pop star from propofol intoxication.

Joe Jackson vents fury at Conrad Murray charge on Larry King Live Joe Jackson has slammed the charge of involuntary murder against Dr. Conrad Murray – insisting it should’ve been murder.

The father of Michael Jackson appeared alongside the family lawyer and spokesman, Brian Oxman, on Larry King Live on Monday.

Jackson told the host: “I don’t like those charges. He got off too easy in court today. Justice, to me, would be the murder charge.”

Joe also claimed that Conrad Murray is just the “fall guy” and he doesn’t believe the doctor is the only person responsible for his son’s death.

“I’m looking for justice for my son. For me, he’s just the fall guy. There’s other people, I think, involved with this whole thing,” Jackson exclaimed.

“I think that if he’s interrogated, he would come clean and tell everything he knows,” he continued.

La Toya Jackson shared her father’s view and released a statement, which King read out on air.

“Michael was murdered and although he died at the hands of Dr. Conrad Murray, I believe Dr. Murray was a part of a much larger plan. There are other individuals involved and I will not rest and I will continue to fight until all of the proper individuals are brought forth and justice is served,” La Toya wrote.

Michael Jackson’s father attempting to sue over death pictures Michael Jackson’s father is attempting to sue news outlets that published pictures of the King Of Pop after he died.

Joe Jackson has filed legal documents asking a court to acknowledge that the family has a right to sue news outlets that published photos of Michael’s corpse.

Joe’s lawyer, Brian Oxman, has filed papers with the court claiming there is legal precedent for a family suing for invasion of privacy when such photos are published.

Joe has not stated which photos he intends to sue over but several images surfaced in the days after the King Of Pop’s death showing him in an ambulance with paramedics attempting to resuscitate the star.

Oxman is also trying to get the estate court judge to allow him access to medical records as a prelude for filing such a case, according to reports.

Lawyers try to stop Jacko’s dad obtaining medical records Lawyers for Michael Jackson’s estate have filed legal papers to stop the king of pop’s father Joe Jackson obtaining the star’s medical records.

According to US reports, the lawyers are opposed to the release of UCLA medical records that detail the pop star’s health over his final years.

Joe Jackson reportedly wants the files in order to file a wrongful death lawsuit.

But lawyers have reportedly argued that the Jackson patriarch is not entitled to the files as he was not a dependent of his son and therefore not legally entitled to sue for his wrongful death.

There is also a doctor-patient privilege that will reportedly bar him from getting the records.

Joe Jackson ‘very proud’ to have Michael’s children accept award at Grammys Joe Jackson said he is “very proud” to have Michael Jackson’s children take to the stage at the Grammys.

The King of Pop’s oldest children Paris, 11, and Prince Michael, 12, were set to accept his Lifetime Achievement Award at Sunday’s ceremony.

And his dad Joe has denied rumours he is “displeased” by the arrangements.

“I am very proud that my son, Michael Jackson, is a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Grammys,” Joe Jackson said in a statement.

“However, there [have] been some recent rumours that I am displeased with the idea that Michael’s children are accepting the award on my son’s behalf.

“On the contrary, I am very proud of my grandchildren. Katherine and I are the ones that [have] initiated their participation.”

The tribute was set to include a 3-D film clip the singer made before his death in June.

“I thank the Recording Academy for their honour and know that Michael would have been very pleased to receive such recognition,” Joe Jackson continued. “I am very proud of my family and I will continue to seek justice for my son.”
