Eva Green to present Best Film gong at London Evening Standard British Film Awards Casino Royale star Eva Green is set to present the Best Film gong at the upcoming London Evening Standard British Film Awards.

Green, 29, is best known for playing the role of spy Vesper Lynd in the 2006 movie opposite Daniel Craig.

The films nominated for best film are three low-budget movies – Bright Star, Fish Tank and Helen.

Other stars presenting an award at the bash on February 8, which is being held at the London Film Museum, include British actress Sally Hawkins and Ray Winstone’s daughter Jaime.

Actress Eva Green “very nervous” about new movie role Cracks star Eva Green has revealed that when she first got the script for the movie, she thought British actress Kristin Scott Thomas would be more suited to the role.

Green, 29, plays a teacher at an elite boarding school in the new film, and admitted that she wasn’t sure she was the right person for the job at first.

The Casino Royale actress said: “I really couldn’t see how I was going to do it. For a start, I thought I was too young. I felt it was the sort of part Kristin Scott Thomas would be more suitable for.”

She added: “Most of all, though, I was very nervous – even more nervous than I usually am, and that’s saying something. I just didn’t know if I was capable of doing it.

“I’m afraid I’ve never had much confidence. I get stressed out quite easily… Sometimes I hate myself.”

The 29-year-old French actress played the role of Bond girl Vesper Lynd opposite Daniel Craig in the movie Casino Royale and admitted that she hates to be the centre of attention.

She said: “At school when a teacher asked me a question I would almost pass out. I was terrible and I still can be. It overwhelms me. I can be having dinner with people and I find I can’t say a word.

“So being an actress is kind of masochistic.”

Bond girl Eva Green has said winning a role in Casino Royale helped make her more "bankable".

The 29-year-old actress played the role of Vesper Lynd in the 2006 flick opposite Daniel Craig.

Talking about the role, she said to the BBC: "It was a blessing, definitely. It brought me luck and it was commercial, but people liked it and now I'm a bit more bankable – which is good."
