Jane Fonda to launch first-ever World Fitness Day

Read More ]"/> Veteran actress and fitness guru Jane Fonda is to launch the first-ever World Fitness Day.

The 72-year-old star appeared in her own series of home workout videos in the 70s and will now host the new event to promote ‘the fun and value of exercise’.

She said to PEOPLE: “It can be a determining factor in the quality of your life and it’s never too late to start.”

The first-ever World Fitness Day will take place in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome on May 1 and more than 3,000 people will have the chance to sign up for workout sessions.

Sessions include aerobics with Richard Simmons and tae-bo with Billy Blanks.
