The 24-year-old is said to be keen to attend the bash on February 16 and has asked Army bosses to give him the day off from his helicopter training.

His office at Clarence House in London has so far confirmed that he will be sending a message via a video link to the ceremony, which celebrates the best in British music.

According to UK newspaper The Sun, the prince said: “The Brits is a celebration of all that is totally outstanding and unique about British music. But what’s less well known about the Brits is the fantastic work it does raising millions of pounds for the Brit Trust.”
