Alves, 27, and actor boyfriend Matthew McConaughey became parents for the second time four weeks ago when Alves gave birth to daughter Vida. The pair are already parents to 18-month-old son, Levi.

She said: “I’m very excited to have a girl. I’m happy and it’s a big blessing. Vida’s definitely a beautiful and peaceful girl. We are so lucky!”

Alves is the new host of hairstyling show Shear Genius and she said she’s looking forward to styling her daughter’s hair when she’s older.

She said: “I’m going to have so much fun with her hair. I’ve been dealing with my own hair for ever so I have a lot to share with her. It’s going to be long talks.”

Alves also said that she and McConaughey have still not cut their son Levi’s hair.

She said: “We have not cut his hair yet. He’s too cute. He’s a little boy and I don’t want to touch it. It’s still pure and perfect! We’re going to have so much time to style it and cut it.

“At this stage in his life, I’m leaving it as pure as possible.”
