The TV presenter admitted that Cole, 26, would make a perfect addition to the US version of the talent show, which Cowell announced he would be making earlier this month.

She said: “I mean, nothing’s confirmed yet. But Cheryl would be great. America would totally get her with her fashion sense – and her beauty.

“She’s like a doll and so cute. I think they’d understand her voice too out here [in the US]. She’d be great for the show.”
