The superstar couple were dressed in coats, scarves and hats as they took their four eldest children – Maddox, eight, Pax, six, Zahara, almost five, and Shiloh, three – to the showing.

They arrived on Broadway in a people carrier to see the show and left their youngest children, one-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, at home.

The family have been staying in New York while Jolie shoots her new action comedy Salt, and the kids have been braving the low temperatures to accompany mum on set.
