Shaq – who lives in the same multi-million-dollar gated community of Isleworth near Orlando, Florida – defended the embattled golfer over recent allegations.

“Tiger’s my guy,” O’Neal said.

“I’m not going to be like everybody else and say off-the-wall comments. I just hope he’s OK.”

Police in Florida have said that Woods will get a careless driving ticket for the one-car crash near his home, but they will not request to see his medical records, effectively closing the investigation.

Shaq said: “The problem going on is when you have people disguising as media putting out reports, and then people believing what they read.

“We don’t know what’s fact, and we don’t know what’s true. We just hope he’s ok.”
