SuBo courted for James Bond theme song

Boyle with her popular jazz style has been likened to Goldfinger singer Dame Shirley Bassey who recorded three Bond movie themes – those for Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker.

The Welsh Dame Shirley has sold an estimated 135 million records to date and has had 35 hits in the UK Singles Chart along with 37 hit LPs in the UK Albums Chart.

Boyle, already clocking up record-making sales with her debut CD and album, I Dreamed A Dream, looks set to mirror her success.

SuBo, meanwhile, was reported to be thrilled over the prospect of being chosen to underscore the upcoming 23rd Bond movie that stars Daniel Craig and is due for release in 2011.

Monty Norman, composer of the classic 007 theme music, said: “They’ll think seriously because she’s got the right kind of sweeping voice.”
