Russell Brand popped into primary school to see nativity play

The 34-year-old turned up at St Mary’s Primary School, in Hornchurch, in his home county of Essex to see his bodyguard’s four-year-old nephew in the play.

The school’s headteacher, Andrea Alliker, said: “I’m not sure all the pupils will have known who he is, but lots did.”

Brand posed for photos on the stage with the children and said to the kids: “I remember I was a shepherd or something in my primary school play. I think my acting skills went undiscovered for a few decades.”
