The 51-year-old performer has been the face of the upmarket brand for the last two seasons and Stone, 25, has now been brought in to replace her.

It is claimed that Stone was picked for the role by Madonna’s fashion designer friend Marc Jacobs.

A spokesman for Louis Vuitton said: “After two seasons with such a huge star, Marc decided to take a breather and work with a model – and not just any model.

“It’s the choice of a new supermodel.”
