The 30-year-old singer, who gave birth to son Knight earlier this year, claimed that she was the first person to have the unusual hairstyle, and that performers such as Rihanna and Cassie have copied her.

She said: “I was definitely the first to do it. The only other person I would give credit before me is Pepa [from 1980s hip-hop group Salt-N-Pepa]. Other than that, I expect them to copy me.

“What else are they supposed to do? They’re young. God bless them.”
