Joe Simpson says daughters Ashlee and Jessica are ‘not failures’

Read More ]"/> Joe Simpson has defended his daughters Ashlee and Jessica and said that they are ‘not failures’.

The Simpson patriarch recently saw his younger daughter Ashlee, 25, give her debut performance as Roxie Hart in the Broadway show of Chicago and he said: “We as a family are under a lot [of] pressure.”

He added that people want ‘to make us look bad and want us to fail’.

His elder daughter Jessica, 29, has had a tough year as she has been criticised about her weight, had to mourn the death of her dog Daisy and was dumped just before her birthday by boyfriend Tony Romo.

Ashlee has been looking after her one-year-old son Bronx and she also had to face being fired from CW’s Melrose Place.

Talking about her departure from the show, Joe said: “It was never a loss. The world says whatever it says. [The world], again, always wants to make it look like we’re failures but we’re really just a family that works hard.”
