The 17-year-old shot to fame after playing Mitchie Torres in the Disney flick Camp Rock.

She has previously been romantically linked to Miley Cyrus’s brother Trace, but the pair reportedly ended their relationship five months ago.

She said on Twitter: “Dear Santa, I want a boy for Christmas… wanna hook a sista up?!

“Oh, and not just any boy.. one that holds the door open for you, and writes hand written letters, and spends time with the [pa]rents.. ya hurrd?”

However, Lovato wasn’t impressed with the cynical replies she received as she added: “Hahaha that’s so sad.. half of my @replies were ‘That type of guy doesn’t exsist anymore’ sheshh.

“Ladies, were better off alone these days!!”
