Cowell, 50, is said to be in advanced talks to make a US version of the hit talent show and believes Cole, 26, is a key part in it.

A source said to UK newspaper News of the World: “Simon can’t imagine doing X Factor without Cheryl now.

“He is insisting she’ll be part of the show. And being a judge over there could raise her profile and catapult her to stardom.”
