The 35-year-old appeared to propose to Ayda on Australia’s Kyle And Jackie O Show.

He said on the show: “Will you marry me? I love you so much – would you mind being my betrothed until the end of time?”

She then replied: “I would love to be your betrothed until the end of time.”

However, his spokesman has now confirmed that it was not a real proposal and he was just joking.

He said: “He did say it, but he did it in a jocular manner. They are not engaged.”
