Prince William tailors overseas tour to girlfriend’s birthday

Prince William’s first official visit overseas has been planned around the birthday of his girlfriend Kate Middleton, according to a UK report.

William and Middleton’s rumoured nuptials gained some wind with the recent report that Buckingham Palace staff have been notified of an impending wedding – albeit one in 2012.

Wills is set to tour Oceania, with a three-day Australia visit netting in the bushfire ravaged state of Victoria and other sights. The tour is said to be at his own suggestion. He has not been in Australia since he was nine months old.

But after missing Middleton’s last two birthdays, he postponed a slated New Zealand visit until after the day on January 9, it was reported. Middleton, long dubbed Waity Katie, is set to turn 28.

The young prince will now fly to New Zealand on January 17 and follow on to Australia.

A source said: “William is really thrilled that he will be here to celebrate. Kate is delighted too, especially as he missed her last birthday because he was at RAF Cranwell and the one before that because he was at Sandhurst.”
