Phil Collins meets his first grandchild

The 58-year-old learned his daughter Joely Collins, 37, gave birth to Zoe Amelie on October 26. She is married to Stefan Buitelaar and the child is their first.

Recalling meeting Zoe in West Vancouver, Phil said: “Life has gone to a new level for me. I’m absolutely thrilled and I’m so happy for Joely and Stefan. They are truly happy.”

Phil is currently recording a new collection of Motown classics but took time out to spend time with Zoe and enjoy a few of his favourite Canadian pasttimes – watching hockey and drinking beer.

Joely noted: “It was the most relaxed he had been in a long time.”
