Paltrow pays tribute to dad on Thanksgiving

She took to her website Goop.com to say:”I dedicate this Thanksgiving letter, on parental acceptance, to my father, who would have been 66 today [November 26].”

Paltrow was close to her dad, Bruce, who succumbed to throat cancer in 2002 while in Rome. He was a writer, producer and director. Paltrow said: “He was the greatest parent, friend, rabbi, any girl could ever have asked for. Happy Birthday Bruce. And Happy Thanksgiving everybody.”

Of his death, she said: “It changed me more than anything else. You don’t want to get to that place where you’re the adult and you’re palpably in the next generation. And this shoved me into that.”
