My Name Is Earl star Jason Lee is to make a return to TV in George Clooney’s TNT show Delta Blues.

The 39-year-old actor shot to fame as the lead role in the US sitcom and is making a comeback in the hour-long Delta Blues, which is from Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures and Warner Horizon.

The show centres around Dwight Hendricks, a Memphis police officer who lives with his mum and moonlights as an Elvis impersonator.

Lee is signed up to play Hendricks and TNT and TBS’s head of programming, Michael Wright, said: “[Lee is] the ideal choice to bring the compelling, off-kilter Dwight Hendricks to life.”
