LeAnn Rimes' new boyfriend is suing a US magazine over claims that he has cheated on the country star.

Eddie Cibrian, who left his wife for the Can't Fight The Moonlight singer earlier this year, has been accused of two-timing with an old girlfriend.

Life and Style magazine made the allegations – which Cibrian strenuously denies – that the CSI: Miami actor had been overheard bragging about sleeping with Scheana Marie Jancan, who he dated before marrying the mother of his two sons Brandi Glanville.

A rep for Cibrian released the following statement: "Unfortunately Life and Style Magazine has chosen to go out with a story filled with inaccuracies and deceitful lies, presumably to titillate sales, but clearly resulting in harm to Eddie Cibrian and others.

"This is irresponsible and reckless journalism. Eddie has met with his attorneys and will be filing a suit for libel and other actionable grounds shortly. It's a shame that Life and Style resorted to a story of this nature and they will regretfully now have to face scrutiny of untruthful reporting in a court proceeding."
