The 40-year-old actor has been romantically linked to several Hollywood leading ladies such as Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz but it was his mum Margaret that joined him at the premiere in Scotland.

Gerard, who was wearing a traditional Scottish kilt, and mum Margaret were seen attending the premiere at the One Devonshire Gardens hotel.

He had spend the weekend celebrating his 40th birthday and held a joint party with his niece Sarah, who turned 12.

The new film opens in UK cinemas on November 27.
