Singer Katy Perry has revealed that she now understands what other celebrities have to go through after being papped more since she hooked up with Russell Brand.

Perry, 25, who has been in the media spotlight since she started dating the British comedian, 34, said it is “not pleasant” to be constantly followed by paparazzi.

She said: “Recently, I have understood the stuff people like Victoria Beckham have had to deal with for most of their adult lives. It can be frightening and overwhelming, but you just have to learn to deal with it.

“You could easily let it have a negative impact on your life, but it’s best to just try and make the most of things… and not get too obsessed by the insanity of fame.”

She added: “People do not realise how hard it is to be chased everywhere by the paparazzi – it is not pleasant.”
