Joe Jackson no legal rights to challenge executors

Joe Jackson failed to secure his legal challenge to the executors of his late son’s estate in a Los Angeles court.

The judge ruled Jackson had no footing in the eyes of the law to stake any claims relating to it. Michael omitted to mention Joe in his will, which was signed and dated in 2002. Joe, however, sought to challenge the two executors Michael had appointed, John Branca and John McClain.

But Judge Mitchell Beckloff, in tossing out the executor challenge, said Joe could pursue a motion to seek an allowance from the estate.

Joe, who lives separately from his wife Katherine, claims he suffers diabetes and has had a stroke. He seeks an allowance to cover his rent and monthly eating out expenses. In a 60-page filing he claimed an allowance to help cover expenses that exceed $15,000 a month, court papers show.

It claims Joe receives $1,700 a month in Social Security and relied on Michael for support for many years.
