Guardians of Ga’Hoole nets Oz-UK star talent

Read More ]"/> A stellar Anglo-Australian cast has been assembled for Guardians of Ga’Hoole.

The 3-D animation will feature Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving and David Wenham as lead voices, while emerging Australian stars Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten and Jay Laga’aia will also provide their voices.

Top UK acting talent in the form of Helen Mirren, Miriam Margolyes and Jim Sturgess will round out the cast.

The movie tells the story of Soren, a young barn owl, who is kidnapped by owls of St Aggie’s, which appears to be an orphanage where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers.

Guardians of Ga’Hoole has entered production in Sydney and will be directed by Zack Snyder.

The Warner Bros/Village Roadshow Pictures film is scheduled for release in Australia on December 9, 2010.
