Delta Goodrem celebrates her 25th birthday

Australian singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem has marked her 25th birthday in Los Angeles.

The milestone was especially poignant for Goodrem, who is a cancer survivor.

Goodrem was joined by her embattled fiance Brian McFadden when an Australian radio breakfast co-host presented her with a birthday cake.

McFadden had returned to be by Goodrem's side after being in the UK dealing with the child custody situation with ex-wife Kerry Katona.

Goodrem has been mainly based in LA in recent months as she tries to launch her US singing career.

She is writing songs for her fourth album since kicking off in Nashville but the release date is not yet set.

Goodrem was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, when she was just 18.

She revealed she had symptoms since 2002 including night sweats and a body rash.

At the time she said: "I was doing sit-ups when I felt something pop in my neck. I reached down and I felt a small lump at the base of my throat. It wasn't sore, it wasn't visible, but I could feel it."

She survived and is very active with cancer advocate groups.

She will be back in Australia to host the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards in Melbourne later this week.

    When your so-called “singing career” is now shopping malls and hosting Nickelodeon award shows, your singing career is well and truly over.

    Delta Goodrem has now joined the ranks of Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian – famous only for being famous. She has no singing talent, that’s now confirmed.
