Danny Boyle to make film about US mountaineer Aron Ralston

Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle is to make a film about the story of US mountaineer Aron Ralston.

Ralston had his right forearm pinned for almost five days under a boulder during a climb in 2003.

He then used a dull knife to amputate the limb and then scaled a 65-foot wall and hiked out before he found a family who gave him food and water.

Boyle will be directing the movie and is now looking for an actor to play the lead.

Production is scheduled to start shooting next year for a release late in the year.
