The 42-year-old Australian singer wants the one-year-old to follow in his footsteps and not those of his actress mum Nicole Kidman.

Talking about the little girl, he said: “She’s got some pipes. I think she sounds quite musical. I sit at the piano with her in the morning and we mash the keys together.”

Urban recently won Favourite Male Country Artist at the American Music Awards and he was happy his wife was in the crowd.

He said: “I’ve never won anything with Nic sitting in the audience before. It was beautiful to have [Nicole] there tonight. She’s such a huge inspiration for everything I do.”
