Cheryl Cole turned down working with Simon Cowell in US because of her accent

Read More ]"/> Cheryl Cole has reportedly turned down the chance to work with Simon Cowell in the US as she is worried the Americans won’t get her accent.

The 26-year-old X Factor judge will be launching her singing career in the US by releasing her No1 single and album.

It is claimed Cowell, 50, is keen for her to join him on a new reality show in the US following her success on The X Factor. However, she is worried that her Newcastle accent will put viewers off.

A source close to Cole said: “She is determined to crack America but wasn’t sure that the TV work was right. She is realistic and knows people don’t always understand what she’s saying.

“Simon has told her time and time again that he can make her a huge star, but it’s simply not what she wants to do.

“She is his number one girl. She loves doing The X Factor, she’s having the time of her life but now the opportunity has come up to launch herself as a pop act in America, she would far rather do that.”
