Chelsy Davy opts for world before chambers

Read More ]"/> Chelsy Davy will take in some worldly sights after deferring her law traineeship with a top London firm to make use of a travel bursary.

She is Prince Harry’s girlfriend again after breaking their long, five-year relationship off at the start of the year. Davy, from Zimbabwe, struck out independently and completed a law degree before being offered the traineeship along with seven others at Allen and Overy.

The 24-year-old will defer her traineeship until September 2010 while she travels in Asia and Australia. She will first spend a rollicking New Year with Harry in South Africa.

A friend said: “Chelsy is one of eight applicants to be accepted on the Allen and Overy course but she has deferred until September 2010 as she has been given a bursary to travel the world. She and Harry plan to go to South Africa for the New Year and they are hoping to be able to get to Lesotho, although Harry may not fit in the trip because of his Army commitments.” Harry is due back at the Middle Wallop Army Air Corps base in early January but is said to be planning to meet up with Davy during her travels.
