Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett has celebrated her critically acclaimed turn Blanche DuBois with a fun wrap party.

Blanchett was in attendance after three hours of playing Blanche to celebrate the segue into the second season of the Sydney Theatre Company's A Streetcar Named Desire along with her husband Andrew Upton and co-star Joel Edgerton.

The stunning actress was seen to be enjoying herself as she worked her away around the party on behalf of the local theatre company that she and her husband co-direct.

The Bruce Beresford production will resume in Sydney before Blanchett reprises the role in New York in November and December.

Guests at the after-party paid $300 for the privilege of rubbing shoulders with the wildly popular Blanchett, with all money raised being donated to the Sydney Theatre Company’s artform development and education activities.

Pots of spicy paella and liquor were also on offer for audience members.
